The newest addition to the Nonantum neighborhood is a sandwich shop called “The Press Room”. Opened by Nonantum native, Jim Donovan. A local legend in the restaurant scene. Jim has been in the business for many, many years. He’s owned quite a few places & has helped a few other places get their start. Such as, starting the chicken wings at Buff’s Pub, which is now considered one of the best chicken wings around Boston. Jim started this place in October 2024. The doors didn’t open for business until March 2025. Only a month in business and he’s been making some noise. I heard about them and knew I had to come try it for myself. I knew right away I wanted that Don Sirlione sandwich. It sounded like the best sandwich on the menu. They all sounded great though. Jim put a lot of time into making this menu. The sandwiches were excellent. Incredible flavor profile. The porcini mushroom cream cheese is a standout condiment that Jim created. It went hand & hand with the rare sirloin which he sous vide for 6 hours. The Fat Tony was also a smash. I can see great things coming for this place in the future. Come give them a try for yourself.
