Enchanté

Enchanté is a charming French-inspired bistro that emerges on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:00-9:00pm at the same location as Honeycomb, a popular bakery and café in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. This delightful transformation occurs with the illumination of a bright pink neon sign, signaling the space’s evolution from daytime café to an elegant nighttime dining destination.

The restaurant is the creation of Lauren Moran, who opened Honeycomb in 2017 with her husband Billy Moran after working as an executive pastry chef at several renowned Boston-area restaurants. Lauren’s extensive experience includes helping to open multiple establishments before realizing her dream of owning her own restaurant.

The Concept

The idea for Enchanté was born organically as Lauren would often sit at one of Honeycomb’s tables after closing shifts with a glass of wine, envisioning how the space could serve a different purpose at night. After hosting cocktail receptions and private events, she noticed how elegantly the café transformed from day to night by simply rearranging furniture, changing the music, adding candles and wine glasses, dimming the lights, and setting the tables.

This dual-concept approach allows the Morans to maximize their beautiful space, offering the community both a daytime bakery experience and an evening bistro without the need for a second location. The transformation is complete and immersive, creating an entirely different atmosphere that might make guests forget they’re in the same space that serves pastries and coffee during daylight hours.

While maintaining the high standards and attention to quality ingredients established at Honeycomb, the evening menu takes on its own distinct character. Lauren’s background as an executive pastry chef likely influences the restaurant’s offerings, combining French culinary traditions with local New England ingredients.

The restaurant welcomes both reservations and walk-ins, making it accessible for planned special occasions and spontaneous dining experiences alike. With Lauren’s culinary expertise and Billy’s restaurant experience (he owns Cornwall’s in Kenmore Square), Enchanté represents a perfect marriage of their combined 38 years in the restaurant industry.
